Cuba fascinates: I had the privilege to visit this paradoxical land in early 2017: beauty, heartbreak, striving, acceptance and
frustration all make-up this enchanting and baffling country. But as an outsider, regardless of my personal references and cultural nostalgias, the land and its people are beautiful and complex. 

In my brief stay in Havana I was taken by the gorgeous juxtapositions of layer upon layer of color and the decaying structures that
sported their time-worn stories. These paintings are inspired by the textures and hues of the rooftops, while, admittedly not
confronting the struggles within.
